HDTV recordings jump all over when FF or RR

I've searched the forums for an entire week. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Sage twice. I've updated my vid driver. I've pulled out all but three hairs on my head. I need some help.

Here's the problem:

When I'm watching HD whether it's live or recorded, the FF or RR buttons give me completely irrational results. If I'm halfway through a show and I hit FF, it may jump 10 seconds like it should, or it may jump back 2 minutes. It's really hard to tell. The timeline at the bottom of the screen shows the proper amount of time, but the actual playback is crazy. It doesn't seem to matter whether I use FF, RR, FF2, RR2, or even click the timeline with the mouse. This problem only occurs with HD recordings.

OK, here's my setup:

P4 3.2, Intel board, 2x SATA 200Gb, 512Mb RAM
2x Hauppauge 250, 1x Avermedia A180
Sage 4.1.3, Sage Decoders (vid/aud) overlay

I've tried changing the decoders from Sage to Sonic to Cyberlink (unstable, problem still there)
I've tried changing from overlay to VMR9 (stutter, problem still there)

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? This is driving me nuts.

Thanks!

Ray

You could try the latest beta version, since HD changes have been made. If the problem still occurs, be sure to file a bug report, as stated above.

You can get a debug log from SageTV by adding debug_logging=TRUE to your properties file when SageTV is not running.

Thanks for responding guys! I've installed the latest version (beta) and it did the exact same thing. I hate to submit a bug because I'm not sure it is a bug. I've got identical hardware to most of what people seem to be using. Unless everyone else is having the problem too and just not saying anything about it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have to think that I'm just doing something wrong.

Is there a difference between running Sage on XP Pro versus XP MCE? Maybe I need to put MCE on it.

XP MCE is XP Pro with MCE added onto it (and cheaper) so I'd say it makes no difference if you use either.

I have been having the same identical problems execpt not for HD recordings, but for regular recordings.

I posted this problem and got 0 responce. So you are not alone - I too am having problems when I FF or Rewind where the pointer get's lost - It's random and does not happen on all movies.

I tried something last night for a fix. No skipping so far, but it's too early to tell as I have to wait since this is kind of random.
