Launching external programs w/ Nielm custom menus import

Has anyone else experienced this when launching an external app w/ Nielm's custom menus?

The app launches fine, but then Sage bounces back to the foreground, and I have to minimize Sage manually (w/ the keyboard) to see the app I just launched.

I don't have FSE set in Sage and I've tried both telling the custom menu entry to sleep Sage and not to sleep Sage.

This didn't happen in v2.2.8
