why cant sage support something like this

http://www.buffalotech.com/products/...&categoryid=18

it actually has support for something other than mpeg, has hd and is a dvd player. I'm about fed up with that mvp garbage. Random freezes, dark picture, getting my dedicated p4 3Ghz machine raped when trying to transcode an xvid movie.

Can it play HD .ts streams native...at least over ethernet? Or does it all have to be WMV HD or DivX HD?

You get what you pay for... the device you're talking about here is $350 and looks like it has it's own lionshare of problems so you're always better off just building your own machine that can handle the media you pump into it.

i'd be willing to pay 350 for it. To get a decent near silent computer that has good tv output and can play HD it would cost alot more than 350.
