does anyone know anything about "mpgbuf" type file?

I was looking looking though my video directory and saw a "HauppaugeWinTVPVRPCIIICapture3SVideo-0.mpgbuf" file.

Does anyone know anything about what it might be?

It seems to have been generated about 15 mins. before I encounted a crash on my system. From the name of the it appears to related to me trying to use the "Do Not Use Program Guide Date with this Source" option for the setup of a Video Source.

In Sage.properties look for "default_pause_buffer_size=16777216" (cable) or "default_pause_buffer_size_dtv=83886080" (ATSC) this setting creates the buf file for each tuner. And adjusting it will effect channel change time and signal buffer and other stuff I 'm sure (which I dont know)

I found keep a 80 meg buffer for my ATSC A180 help a lot, I tried lowering it and notice a pauses and went back to a default level and that seem to work pretty good (so far)

prehaps someone with a little more insider info can explain this a bit (a lot) better than I
