No picture with minimal placeshifter client

I tried yesterday the minimal placeshifter client on my desktop with the 4.1.9 on the media center. The placeshifter finds the SageTV on the network, and there is sound coming but no picture. I also tried the sagetv client and the "standard" settings are not working, I had to use the "advanced" settings for getting any picture.

What do you mean by "standard" and "advance" settings?

Check to make sure your destop color is set to 32bit. I saw that problem with one of my pc that was set to 16bit color.

That's one of the steps in the sageclient setup wizard... I have no idea what they mean. And my desktop is in 32bits.

This means that overlay is not working for some reason, since I think that is the only difference between those 2 settings. (The Config Wizard lists the settings at the top of the screen while configuring video playback there.)

This would explain why there is no video from the placeshifter, since it uses overlay.

Is anything else running at the same time that is already using the overlay area? Maybe the video card drivers and/or DirectX need to be updated? Not sure what all would cause overlay not to work...

What kind of video card do you have?? I have a feeling I know the answer to it....

Thanks for your help! My video card is somekind of Nvidia card. But that's no big deal if it is an overlay problem... Not the first time I experience that and usually an update of the drivers + directx solves the problem.
