Want to Switch over to Sage (Again), Need some Info

Hi

What I'd like to do.

(I already own Sage, would need to buy client licenses)

Server: SageTV 4 (OS: MCE 2005)

(Server is also MasterBedroom HTPC)

Install 3 HD Tuners (a ATI HD, Fusion 5 usb and Fusion 5 pci)
Install 1 SD Tuners (WinTV250 MCE-PCI)
Local harddrives as needed (and record to network drive(s) as space needed
Use TT2 for movies, Catalog my online Movies, AND ***

Use Server with Sage as Bedroom HTPC (Already setup, IR extenders, blasters and such)

HTPC (OS: MCE 2005)
Install 1 SD Tuner (PowerColor 550 PCI-E, no PCI-E slots on server)

Use Sage Client for HTPC

Notebook-GreatRoom PC (OS: XP)

Use Sage Client to view TV and scheduling

Use TT2 for movies, Catalog my online Movies (or a better Sage option)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Things I'm not sure Sage 4 and Sage Client Can Do

Use Sage Client on Notebook-GreatRoom PC to control Music ON/THRU SERVER (feeds my whole house audio) including the FM Tuner on WinTV Card

*** Somehow I need a popup or a collection number on-screen after movie selection, so I can locate offline Disc's (I already own DVDProfiler, paid version)

Use HTPC-GreatRoom Clients local harddrives for Recorded TV storage for all tuners

________________________________________________________________

I'd like to just use Sage for TV, Music, FM and DVD Cataloging/Playing if
possible and not go into another interface.

________________________________________________________________

MCE and SAGE together options

MCE gives me Movie Cataloging (MyMovies, LOVE IT), XM, FM radio and I could use RDP for music control of server/whole house audio, and then use Sage and Client for TV,

is anyone having luck using Sage TV with MCE? (I'd still like to just use one interface and the Server/Client structure of Sage 4.

Or could I just call up MCE MyMovies, MCE FM and MCE XM from Sages "Other Programs" thru my Harmony Remote.

Sorry for the long post, but just can't seem to find a solution that does these about items.

Thanks for any help.

Jeff

Use Sage Client for HTPC
If you want to use a tuner in a client, you will need a full SageTV installation for this system also, not SageTVClient. You can use SageTV on a networked PC to act as a network encoder and as a client UI. (SageTVClient cannot control tuners, so it can't act as a network encoder.)

SageTV won't use the FM tuner, btw. And, the clients control the media being played on the local system, not what the server is playing.
