Problem with reconnecting MVP after shutdown

I just switched to the Extender from the original MVP software. Everything works great except when I turn off the MVP it will not reconnect to the server PC. It doesn't even get to the Sage screen.

The other issue is when I keep the MVP on to avoid this problem, but turn off the PC. Then the MVP just freezes up. In both cases the only fix is to unplug the power and wait...

I'm connecting through a Linksys WRT54G with a wired connection to both the PC and the MVP.

Has anyone seen this, I think I'm missing something...

Thanks!
Ralf

Hi Ralf

What version of Sage are you using? There has been som issues with the first versions of the 4.1, so I suggest you try the newest beta version.

You say you never get the SageTV screen. What do you actually see displayed on your TV?

I might have something similar.

I have an occasional issue with reconnections of my mvp which sounds pretty similair. When I reboot my sage server then 3 or 4 times out of 5 the mvp reconnects with no problem - the other times it seems to crash.

I've contacted sage about it and had some requests for debug info but I still have this issue with the latest beta (4.1.9).

I upgraded to 4.1.9, same problem as with 4.1.8.

I had a blink of success after I restarted everything and turned the MVP off for a few seconds and then back on. It booted back up and I was starting to think that the problem may have been a "feature" of the 7-day trial. I had just purchased the Extender and entered the key etc.

So I tried it again and left it off for a few minutes and it's stuck again. It shows the blue MediaMVP screen and the status line switches between "Contacting DCHP Server" and "Contacting MediaMVP Bootserver".
