experimental thumbnails not working?

I tried the new experimental setting to generate thumbnails for videos but I'm not sure if it is working or not... Where are the thumbnails supposed to show?

I just asked for this a few mins ago, Weird!

On my system if the thumbnail is named the same as the video file and is in the same folder then it shows up in the folder view of the Imported Videos.

If it works can you tell me what you did?

Oh so this is only for imported videos?
I don't have any

I was hoping to have some icons for my recorded shows

well i'm sure there is a way to change the view of recorded tv so that it would use the imported video menu.

What did you have going? Did you use any software to generate thumbnails?

no... I thought SageTV would generated thumbnails... I guess I did not really understand this feature

Ya it doesn't generate video just for pictures. afaik

I've been looking up this new experimenta feature.

How does it work? I'd love to have different thumbnails in the same folder for imported videos.

Does something have to be turned on?

I just make a thumbnail of the video (I use Meedio to make it but any videoplayer that does screen captures can do it too I guess) then rename the pic the samething as the the video (ie: video1.mpg = video1.jpg) and put it in the same folder. Then Sage will show it in the imported video menu. You'll probably have to rescan.

The only thing I want is something to generate the thumbnails automatically like Meedio does. Maybe using DIRMON, but I have yet to find a good FREE program that can do a batch job from the command prompt.

I've had this turned on for awhile now and have noticed that the placeshifter client will sometimes have a generated thumbnail for a recorded show in place of the channel logo. However my clients don't display any of these thumbnails, for imported videos or otherwise.

I have a folder of tv shows. There are 24 of them in a single folder. I have a folder.jpg inside it, which up till now, has put the same thumbnail for the folder and each episode.

So I made a new .jpg then named it the same as one of the episodes in the folder.

The episode with the matching .jpg file isn't showing the new thumbnail under sage.

Any ideas? I have done a re-scan. Still no help.
