Odd Scheduling Behavior

Is it my imagination, or does Sage choose to record a later airing of a show in an attempt to reduce the number of simultaneous recordings? I have three tuners, and have three favorites that air at the same time. One of the favorites repeats later the same night. Sage has that show scheduled to record at the later time, even though there's a tuner free at the first air time.

Is it doing this in an attempt to reduce the number of simultaneous recordings? Can I tell it not to do that?

It tries to reduce the number of actual conflicts. Are you sure that 3rd tuner is completely free during that timeslot? It sounds like perhaps some of the timeslot was taken up because of padding due to recordings before or after that time. (Or else the fav's padding interefered with something before or after.)

There is no padding. Looking again at the future schedule I see that I misunderstood what it was doing. I'm still confused about what happened tonight though - it recorded two shows from 7pm-8pm, and was supposed to record a third from 7pm-8:32 (with nothing else recording at 8pm), but it rescheduled it for the re-air at 10:32. I didn't think it was very likely, but it's possible that someone was watching live tv at 7pm, which would explain it. I'm guessing it wouldn't pop up a 'can I change the channel' message if it was able to re-schedule the recording.

That's actually a really good question. If I'm watching livetv, would Sage pop up a 'can I change the channel' message if there was a repeat airing later the same night?
