Sage Media Extender and mpeg 4

Does anyone know if the Sage Media Extender will play mpeg 4 files? Also if they will play them say xvid or divx how about the new h264 format? Perhaps one could tell the media extender to run another program on the server like Nero Showtime to play the mpeg 4 files?

I'm starting to think the media extender might be another good way to go instead of a computer.
