Channels - Volume Control - Static

Hello - it seems like when I watch some channels it's as if sometimes there is static in the sound as if it were too loud. Is the volume when recorded controlled in hardware by my Win TV 500 cards or is there something I can adjust in the LineIn or somewhere in the software? I'm not sure if the problem is part of that channel's feed or if there are some adjustments I can make.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike:

Everything I've read says that the 500 and 150 are related cards. My WinTV-PVR-150 is using the line in for my DirecTV receiver, and I was dealing with an audio issue for what seems like an eternity. THe fix is to go to Hauppauge's website and download the new BETA drivers. They even list one of the fixes as the line in audio being tooooo hot.

Well, at least it worked for me. There's still a huge disparity between the audio from the PVR-150 and my HDTV Wonder, but that's another thread.

What driver version release do you have? Also - I'd consider an HDTV tuner card but I like the idea of a dual tuner. I have two WinTV 500 cards which take only two slots of course and allow for four cable boxes.

Thanks,
Mike
