Pronto TSU3000 remote good?

Im thinking about getting one of these. I like the programmability of it. My backlight went out on my MX500, and I need to replace it. So im thinking of taking a step up to the pronto 3000 model. Just wondered how many of ya all are using one of these devices.

Thanks

I LOVE mine!

It has made my complex system easy for my (bless her heart) non-geeky wife.

If you enjoy programing this sort of thing, it will do just about anything you can think of. Check out www.remotecentral.com You will get much more info.

I have a couple of Pronto remotes but for Sage purposes each is supplemented with a tactile remote. The touchscreen format is great for automated tasks but for skipping, rewinding and guide and menu navigating I prefer physical buttons. In two other rooms (with Sage clients and systems) I use MX-500s myself; I think they are great remotes. If they had seperate cursor buttons instead of the five-way disc they'd be perfect Sage remotes.

I use a TSU7500 and would not be happy without it, it has just enough real buttons to go with the touch screen buttons. I have not found anything it can't do with my system.

General pronto setup questions...

Hi all,

I've been really happy with Sage for about the past year, but have just been using wireless keyboard (Motorola Airboard) with no remote. WAF would go up dramatically if I could get a remote integrated into the setup and automate some tasks. Can one of you guys just paint some broad strokes as to how to get a pronto set up with Sage? I have an old TSU1000 I got from a friend. Here's my impression of what to do:

1) Buy USB-UIRT
2) Map discrete Sage keyboard codes from Airboard to Pronto
3) Download ccf for my Yamaha receiver from remotecentral.com
4) Use Prontoedit software to make nice frontend with Sage/Yamaha screens, as well as automated tasks

Do you guys have a Sage ccf that might save me some time from doing the mappings myself to the pronto? When I looked on remotecentral, I didn't see anything for SageTV.

Also, how does one control Foobar or Winamp via remote? Is this possible/easy?

Thanks in advance for any help. Really looking forward to improving the WAF = improved ability to buy new toys.

cheers,
Dave
