Latest Linux Beta running with 4.1.12?

I'd like to use a Linux client running 4.1.6 with a Windows Server running 4.1.12. Has anyone tried this? Will it run?

I don't think people have had much success running the linux version as a client. I know I haven't.

We'll be updating the linux version soon. It should also include a placeshifting client.

And how about an option in the new version to install as a client since people are having so many problems getting it to work.
