small Hauppague remote doesn't work right on new computer

I was migrating SageTV to a different PC and did the following

move pvr250 to new machine and installed latest driver (but not IR software)

installed latest version of sage (not 100% sure I selected 34button remote as part on istall but I thnk I did)

, entered key, and set it up for the small 34 button haupp remote

on noticing the remote didn't work even with sage set to use the samll haupp remote and the sensor plugged in, quit sage and installed the latest IR software

ran restart IR

restarted sage

now the remote does nothing but make makes the focus jump bestween the very top and bottom of the main menu when I hit the up and down buttons.

the remote won't do anything else in sage (though hitting "go" did make a non-sage looking menu popup on top of sage.

The remote has new batteries the sensor is fine and the remote worked fine before the migration.

what should I do to fix the problem?

Since you installed the IR software after SageTV was installed, the irremote.ini file in your Windows directory has no SageTV config section in it. To get that info in the ini file, see the links in my sig lines: post 3 of link 1, or post 15 of link 3.

BTW: If you want to include some sort of extremely long list of setup info, please put it into a txt file & attach it to the post instead of including it in the psot -- that makes an extremely long post to scroll through.
