SageTV 1.4.10 with DirectShow errors

After running the new SageTV version for a while I get a new error:
"There was a problem with timecontrol in directshow"
"Failed restarting the DirectShow Filter Graph in the paused state after switching files"
"ErrCode=0x8007045d"

This error is displayed in the SageTV client.

Also, can someone explain to me this:
Whenever I watch a channel (even when zapping) a mpeg file gets created on the disc. When and how do the files get deleted?

What video and audio decoder are you using? (Setup > Detailed Setup > Video and Audio

Also, since SageTV is an always recording PVR application it's constantly creating a new file when you change channels in case you want to record, pause, rewind that show. These files will get deleted over time as SageTV needs more room to record.

Hello,

I'm using the default InterVideo decoders fro both audio and video.

My problem seems to happen only after running for a while and after changing a good number of channels.
At soem point I thought it could be an hardware issue. Meanwhile I had the card exchanged.

Are you using the latest drivers from Hauppauge available at their website?

I get that error if i use the intervideo non css video and audio codecs with the anything but the default deinterlace.

so check your deinterlace, set it to default then put sage to sleep then maximize. see if that makes a difference.

Here are my settings:
Audio and video are using the Intervideo Non CSS decoder
Video: defaultrendering filter, MPEG mode default, deinterlacing default
Audio:
Audio Renderer is default

I use leave 2 GB free (initially had 7GB+ free)
I use the TV out of the 350.

I just recently uninstalled/installed all the Hauppauge driver/software. Reason: I tried the card in an other PCI slot. Doing so I downloaded the latest from the Hauppauge site.

In the control panel device view the Hauppauge codec shows up as 1.16.11.20347

From the TVviewer I got that:
hcwAud32.DLL 3.26.21058 PVR II

hcwAV.DLL 1.46.20346 PCI PVR II

hcwChan.DLL 3.17.20316

hcwI2C32.DLL 2.7.20296 PVR PCI II

hcwHook.DLL 1.5.17117

hcwPNP32.DLL 4.3.20267

hcwTuner.DLL 3.23.20338

hcwTVDlg.DLL 3.12.20093

Exclamation Exact Same error as stated earlier

I just had the same thing happen to me...

I just started to switch recorded programs and the error "...Time shift...." showed up

I have a PVR-350 as well..
Earlier this evening, I was watching a prgram on the TV and it froze, but the program on the Computer screen continued.... Sometime later, it happened again, then the whole sage tv program froze up to the point where I had to press the reset button on the computer.

In the past few days, I updatd the drivers on the hauppauge card to see if it eliminated some of the problems, I was having, now this issue is here.

This is the output from my System resources file, in case this would be helpful.

Did you disable software decoding in the properties file? If so re-enable and let me know if that fixes your problem. Do this while SageTV is not running.

If software decoding is enabled, then try selecting different software decoders because they will impact how the PVR-350s hardware decoder acts. This is due to a bug currently with the PVR-350s drivers.

I assume this setting is in the sage.properties file?
I never modified this file.
I found the following: videoframe/disable_sw_decoding=false

I will enable it. What is this doing? Not using the 350 hardware?
Can I still stry with the InterVideo NonCSS decoders?

I changed the setting to true.
After that I was able to change the channel twice before I got the error.

Also, after setting it to true, I don't see any TV in the SageTV window on my primary display. Just on the 350 video out.

How about if you choose different software decoders from within SageTV from the detailed setup. Note: you still need to have the TV-out for the 350 enabled, it's just that there's a bug in Hauppauge's drivers where you have to still select a software decoder. Just make sure you put SageTV to sleep after you switch decoders then awake it and select a different recording to view.

Just to make sure I was not misunderstood with my previous post: if I switch to videoframe/disable_sw_decoding=true the 350 TV out still works, however there is no video on the PC monitor in the SageTV window anymore.

-> it's just that there's a bug in Hauppauge's drivers where you have to still select a software decoder

What does that mean exactly? It looked like with the default installation a decoder was selected.
I have to select any other decoder than the InterVideo NonCSS? Which one should I use?
It looked like with the default installation a decoder was selected.
