birtles.org.uk

Hey all,
Just wondered if anyone can reach birty's website? I've been trying all weekend to get to the wiki documentation so I can work out why the XmltvConsole.exe grabber is getting channels I haven't selected from inside the GUI and to see if there are any command line options I can pass it.

I followed sisko's HowTo and the forum to get this far:
xmltvconsole grabs listings and post processes with the UK_RT_ALT_RT and PrgDets and UK_RT_Plus_One. This gives me a data.xml file (though I'm not really sure what these are doing to the file)

I then run the xmltv to sort this file
xmltv tv_sort --by-channel --output epgdata.xml <input filename>

I then copy the file into the SageTV\SageTV folder and use Demideus' XMLTV plugin to read this file. I've created an xmltv.properties file using his template and added in a bunch of channel number mappings and this works.

How do I get the console grabber to not fetch all the BBC regional channels (well, any channels I don't subscribe to, actually!)?

Thanks

its back now. the channels you are seeing in the xml file should exactly match the ones you selected in the gui. UK_RT_Plus_One will be generating more 4+1 and a couple of others

but how does it 'Generate' these channels

I just don't get how it can 'generate' listings for channels if the Radio Times don't supply it!

it can do it for the +1 channels by simply adding an hour to the program times

I never realised ;-)
