Cannot Play WMV Files

I am using SageTV v4 on a Windows 2000 Professional PC using a PVR-350 card but using the PC video card video out and the PC audio card audio out.

I am able to see WMV videos in the Import Library but I can't play them. When I click to play it Sage pops up a video rendering error box and it automatically switches to playing a TV Channel.

Can we play WMV files in Sage?

I tried installing the very latest SageTV Beta but I get the same results.
I also tried changing the video rendering setting, but no matter the choice I get the same result.

Any clue?
