Internet Time Syncronization Prolems XP Pro

OK, so I have a problem with syncing the sage clock with the system clock because it always seems to cut the shows off about one minute early. This could probably be overcome if there was an additional setting with this to try to calibarate our own servers to the sage server by adding or subtracting time in minutes and seconds etc from whatever the system clock is read at. I know I can set padding, but to have to do that for every show is a pain, and a global setting would be nicer.

Anyway, my current work around is to use the time.nist.gov location to have windows syncronize with a clock itself. So the problem I am having however is that the clock doesn't seem to be able to sync while sage is running. My event log has many errors each saying something like: 'time was not able to synchronize for 49152 seconds which is what? like half a day? Anyway, is there something sage is doing that is preventing windows from having access to the clock or something? If I stop sage I am easily able to do it manually. None of my other systems have problems syncing up like the one running sage.

I too have had troubles with the Windows default ntp servers.

Try 'clock.psu.edu' or google for 'ntp servers stratum 1' to get a complete list of good servers to use.

I highly recommend ArGoSoft's free time synchronizer. It runs nicely as an XP service and has a UI via the control panel. Someone recommended it here awhile back and its worked perfectly for me for a good while.
