Well, after a few weeks of having Sage crash every one to two days (seems to be getting more stable with the beta releases), I decided to go for more RAM. Upped it from 512MB to 1GIG. Has worked wonders. My Sage box has been up for about 4 days now with no crashes. My live tv from my Plextor (setting DIVX-High Quality 1.5Gbph) looks better too, although im not sure why that is. It seemed like with less memory in my system, when i got low on RAM the live tv avi files would look blocky, loose audio sync, and id have to restart Sage. With 1Gig ram, live tv and recordings look better, all the menus and guide respond faster, and FF/RW live TV doesnt choke up or completely hang up my Sage box anymore. So, in short, Id recommend 1GIG ram.

I'd run a memory test on your system to see if your original memory was defective. It could be that it's now mainly using memory that is the new memory, and that's why it's not crashing. But if your system was crashing before, and not crashing now, it seemingly wasn't a program issue, but instead a hardware issue. It's also possible it might be something with a hard drive (due to use of virtual memory), but much more likely, it's your physical memory.

Have you tried to run your system using MPEG2 and not trying to wrap the live tv files as AVI? I'm starting to think that the entire DivX compression that the 402U does eats a lot of system resources.
