Hard Drive Additions

I'm about to add two additional hard drives, (via networked PC). There currently are two local drives and Sage typically equalizes the usage, the videos are equally divided between the two drives.

Can I just add the new drives and let Sage figure out how to use them or should I divide up the current videos equally among the four drives ? If I divide the videos, can Sage find them at their new location ?

Not sure this makes complete sense ...

Ken,

SageTV will use the drives with the most free space. This basically means that until the network drives get as full as your current local drives they will pretty much be used exclusively. I personally would figure out how much you needed to transfer to each of those 2 drives to ballance it out unless you are ok with the new drives being used heavily until things ballance out on there own. See the SageTV FAQ on how to move files from one location to another and having SageTV keep them in the listings.

Thanks, John. No problem with the new drives being used heavily. As long as it's not a concern, I'll let SageTV take care of it.
