Playshifter in Canada

I just arrive in Canada. Downloaded placeshifter and java stuff. Installed, ran placeshifter, logged into my server, got interface back but no sound/picture. I can browse all around. What gives??

Check to make sure you desktop is set to 32-bit color. You may also want to try disabling post-processing in the Placeshifter settings. If that doesn't work; then the video card driver may need to be upgraded on the system. Also, make sure no other media player apps are running.
