Placeshifter on Secondary Monitor

I know that is very hardware and driver dependent, but is it possible to use placeshifter on a secondary monitor?

Right now, it works on my, larger, primary monitor, but on my secondary monitor, the video is blank.

I've run into this problem before, and disabling hardware acceleration or changing the rendering mode fixed it. (software render)

I guess what I'm asking is more options with placeshifter, something more than LAN/Connection configuration.

Great piece of software otherwise guys. Been using SageTV for about a year now, no problems!

p.s. SageTV Client worked on my secondary monitor.

I am having the same issue. Unfortunately I haven't found a fix for it yet. Hopefully we'll get some options to set a software renderer like you mentioned, or some work around.

OK, so we know Sage is essentially using mplayer to play the files, and to disable hardware acceleration you pass -vo directx:noaccel to mplayer on the commandline. I glanced through the java class files that Sage puts out and it looks like they pass -vo directx without the noaccel part explicity in the code. If they could just provide a way for us to control that switch, we'd be golden. (I verified that passing -vo directx:noaccel to SagetTVPlayer.exe from the placeshifter install does indeed play a video correctly on my secondary monitor.

It would be even better if instead of passing those configuration parameters on the commandline that they used the mplayer.conf file instead, then we could change them to whatever we wanted (using different renderers, etc.)

Or at least allowed us to override the video renderer using a property in the properties file...

This has already been fixed for the next release.

Thumbs up

Great!

Just upgraded to Placeshifter 5.0.4 and it works on both monitors now!
