You have to create your own menu item for it in SageMC if you are not using dynamic menus. Open the options on the main menu, and select to show "CustomX", then go to the Menus config screen of SageMC and set the same "CustomX" menu to point to Google Videos. (You can also rename the label "CustomX" to "Google Vids" at this same menu).

Dirk,

I thought I saw this addressed before, but I don't recall an answer being provided. Running 6.3.1 when movie titles are updated via imdb lookup in SageMC, the name of the movie changes in default STV to part of the description.

Please tell me which info you'd like to see and I'll reply accordingly.

My Menu not executing Menu Items

I have just updated to Sage 6 and the latest version of SAGEMC. I can get to MY Menu ok but it does not seem to execute any of the menu items within.
I deleted menu.xml and recreated it, still no luck.

I turned on Debug and it appears to be trying to execute the menu item.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what I could try next.

Thanks;

How do I use comskip feature in Sage MC 16X9

For a long time now I have known about the comskip feature but never really looked into it. I notice that in the latest Sagemc 16x9 stv there are several menu options for its use but have no idea if it needs to be configured in anyway or is already availablle. So could someone give me a little 101 on the subject. Actualy on anothe note its great that Sage has this nice user based STV but it gets pretty confusing tryin to look through over 3000 post in and several version updates. It would be nice if when a new version is released it would have its own new thread a basic user manual of all the available featurse would be nice too.

Dirk.

Wow, awesome updates in this new release. I'm just now poking around with it.

A few questions though.

My diskbar now just constantly says, "Updating..." And the SageMC Options for "Extras" is blank.

Do I need to enable the super duper, fancy, top secret, extra features for this to work now?

Just a bit confused, as it worked just fine before...

Oh, davefred99, the thread in my signature will get you about 95% of the way there, with just a few options to configure in SageMC after that (actually, it works automatically in SageMC, but you can customize the way it works with options in SageMC).

I've never had anything listed in the "Extras". Have I been missing something?

Okay, a restart fixed the "Updating..." problem. I like the alternating hours/GB left.

Guess the "Extras" are for something neither of us know about, huh?

The Extras section is a placeholder for 3rd party (or is that aftermarket?) plugin option settings to be added. I added a few there for the movietimes screensaver.

Aloha,
Mike

Hmm...Movietimes Screensaver...looks like I'll have to do a little digging around, as I must have missed it, or forgot about it.

On another note:

The diskbar option to set the lookahead time, does not appear to update the text in the diskbar. For example, if I set it to 72 hours, it still displays "Next 48 Hours" in the diskbar.

I don't think the screensaver is released yet. I sent it to Morgan a couple of weeks ago to be included with the movietimes plugin. I'm pretty sure he wanted to wait until SageMC 6.3.1 was released, since this is the minimum required version for the screensaver.

Aloha,
Mike

My Videos

Just updated to the most recent version of Sage and MC.

When scrolling through my videos in folder view I get down about 6 or 7 rows and WHAM....Sage crashes and just disappears...straight to the desktop.

Just checked and it crashes in List mode too....

I noticed that when viewing the cover art and scrolling down the rows that it looks as though it is just barely keeping up with me displaying the pictures, whereas with previous version it was already loaded before I scrolled down the rows.... just an observation....

I though I read a ways back that there was something about corrupted cover art?

Could this be the case here?

Should I delete my cover art (folder.jpg) files and start over....ugh...

-JD

EDIT>> Just reinstalled my backup to older Sage/MC files and everything works 'normal' again (no crashes) sooo.... I think I'll hang here until I (we) figure this out....

Yeah, this is caused by a bug in the Image loader of SageTV 6.0. Support sent a fixed DLL to Kirby which also fixed the crashes for me. I got permission from Jeff to post the fixed DLL here, so just replace the file in your Sage directory.

I noticed the same, and it started when installing SageTV 6, so it's not a SageMC issue

Thanks for posting this issue dizzy. I was having the same problem.

I'll try to new dll tonight...

Dirk: I'm assuming this .dll fix won't be generally released until Sage 6.0.0.19? Any word from Sage?

Hi Paul,

do you still have this problem ? So when you select one of the menu items on the 'My Menu' page, nothing happens ? Do the items on the main menu page work ?

Hi B,

well, as mentioned before (e.g. here) this is caused by the new views in SageTV 6.0 now using the 'Episode' field for the title. The only way to fix this is to change the IMDB code in SageMC accordingly, but this would screw up all existing video info for SageMC users. Not sure if this would make everyone happy ...

Dirk
