Just so you know-the default STV already does that.

This is of course very subjective, but it doesn't bother me that the main menu is different from all the underlying screens. The home page is the main navigation point - once you branch out from there the data is organized in the most convenient manner. I don't think we need to change the Guide, for instance, to match the look of the main menu.

I understand your concern. I just don't share it.

Item count on the video folders

When you have a mix of DVD structures and files, the item count in the my videos counts all DVD structures and only counts 1 for all of the regular video files. Is this by design or a feature???

I cannot import the SageTV MC Video Tools into this STV.

Infact several of hte menus do nothing but cause the machine to freeze, lock up or just sit there and do nothing.

I have fresh downloads of SageTV, MC, and Video Tools (And the files required by Video Tools).

*EDIT* I just saw I need Java 1.6. Let me try that and post back.

*edit2* Yes, I a stupid..... and obviously cannot read. Java fixed my problems. D'oh !!!!

Just a quick question:

I'm currently running SageTV 6.2.10, SageMC 6.3.3c and Java 1.6. I want to update to the latest SageTV 6.3.5 and SageMC 6.3.6b. If I understand things, I need to shut it down, install SageTV 6.3.5.

Then do I just need to copy the files over from the sagemc_6_3_6b_update.zip file and then load SageMC_169.xml from Settings/Load Application Package?

Or do I need to reinstall the full package?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

you will need the full install package.

probelms with 6.3.6b

Hi all, I started a new thred for my problems, but got nowhere, so I am asking this here in the main thread of SageMC.
This is the post I started - http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29321

From time to time I sample the SageMC thread and software to see if it fits my needs.

As there are at last count 236 pages there, I do not know if this has been discussed there.

My Sage is using sagemc636b says I have recording conflicts, but the recording conflict screen is empty (no recordings shown, only the text message, and the close button).

When I run from my client, it shows me all the conflicts.
Has any one come across this?
Running Java 1.603.
I use Theme BlueTwo

Added my log file here (which reveals absolutely nothing to my eyes)

Also could you guys post a WIKI on SageMC, and all that it can do?
I see there was supposed to be a WIKI but it leads nowhere, and thats a shame. (not working url == http://www.sage-community.org/index.cgi/wiki/SageMC169 )

Another problem is that the recording conflict button does not work when in the My Menu section.

Hi Banjo, the user "real_per" already suggested the below information for translation last time you asked. Sorry, I cant help any more:

http://sage.tv/2_papers/i18n.txt

It seems there's a few steps involved, including some info from flachbar.

No. "16x9" supports 4x3 nicely. I think it's only called 16x9 in the thread title...

i was just looking in the screenshot thread of sagemc16x9 and noticed like i already knew that something is wrong with my setup.

since i can remember the small preview window in the bottom left corner never worked for me. for whatever reason i only get the stopped icon to show up and if i changed the setting to show paused video on the corner i only get a paused icon and the tv icon, but never the video. even if i then hit play the video will continue to play, but it still shows the "my tv.png" logo only, never the video

and i think my client on the next computer does the exact same thing.

am i missing something here, shouldnt be just a simple thing for the stupid thing to kick in...

not sure if it matter but im using the nvidia video decoder, but even if i switch to sagetv decoder i still get the same result ...

There is a setting to enable video on menus while playing:

Settings >> Detailed Setup >> Multimedia >> Video Menu Options

Set it to IfActive and Window. That should do it.

If you are using the standard menus, you can specify a main menu screen icon by creating a "hover_Custom#.png" where # corresponds to the custom menu # where you placed that plugin on the main menu.

Is there any way of changing the plugin structure so that the menu heading graphics would also correspond to a custom#_logo.png for the graphics within the menus of that plugin?? Or would that require too many changes within the STV structure and plugins??

I ask because I am trying to create some custom logos for foofaraw (and a yet to be released theme) for some of the more popular plugins, and would like the main menu icon to matchup with the logos within the menus themselves.
This is something that would be implemented by the individual STVi developers. We don't really have any control over it.

Aloha,
Mike

Sorry, I don't really know what would be involved. I guess you have to create a translation file in Studio while SageMC is loaded, and then follow the instructions in the posted text file. I gave it a quick try, but couldn't get it to work, so some info must be missing. Search here in the forum, I remember some posts regarding this in the past.

Usually you only need to install the update if you are running the (latest) previous version. If you are jumping across multiple versions, a full install is always recommended (and in this case even required, since the theme framework changed completely from 6.3 -> 6.4).

Well, I wouldn't call it "by design", but yeah, the current code works that way...
