Placeshifter automatically closes

I'm testing out Placeshifter on my home computer which is running SageTV as a service. Port 31099 is forwarded to this computer in my router.

SageTV is also configured to use external port 31099. The SageTV program itself says that external connections should be fine.

When I run Placeshifter, it tries to connect over the locator service and can most of the time. But if I select any menu, the program just closes.
(and honestly, I don't see a log file that I can attach).

But, if I try to connect over LAN, it works just fine. Going over WAN does not work at all for me. I have my router forwarding 31099 and 8080 to my computer and that's it.

Any help is appreciated.
