LiveTV picture better with small windows

I have an AMD 1800+ with 512MB ram and ATI 9600xt vc. I noticed when I watch live TV with the standard window the picture gets better the small I make the windows. I have two questions. First, is my recording quality the same no matter how big I make the window. Second, is there a way to make my picture better when I make the window bigger, i.e., full screen. I'm using the intervideo driver.

The size of the playback window has nothing to do with the recording quality; it is probably just harder to see any video imperfections when it is in a smaller window. You can change the default recording quality in Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Recording Quality.

For playback quality, other people will probably suggest that you use a different/better decoder for playback.... the one from nvidia seems popular.
