can't fast forward imported avi files!

hello

i got sage 2.2.8, and everything works, except fast forwarding with avi movies. pause, rewinding, everything works. except fast forwarding.

i have spent like 2 days on it, going back and fourth to different ghost images. no success.

fast forwarding works with live tv. so it's not a remote command issue.

i have installed: xvid codec, divx codec, ac3filter.

i am very positive that it's a codec issue. however. the weird thing is: when i uninstall the above codecs, i'm still able to watch divx movies. i remember windows was installing some kind of codec when i tried to watch a divx movie. i guess that codec is messing everything up. but that's just a guess. because i once did an install without internet (and therefore without that automatic codec installation) and then fast forwarding was possible. however, i unfortunately don't have a ghost image of that install.

please help if you have any idea!

I'm using Sage 5. Did you figure out what was causing your AVIs not to fast forward?
