IR Blaster Trouble

I have an ActiSys IR Blaster hooked up to COM1. During the installation, I am able to test that buttons 1 - 9 work correctly. However, I cannot get the IR Blaster to function inside of the SageTV app. I have included the log file.

I am trying to get this to work with the Scientific Atlanta 3100HD box. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Frank T. Lee

When you select something to watch in SageTV do you see the lights inside the Actisys blink?

Email your Sage.properties file (do not post it) to support@freytechnologies.com and I'll check to see if you've got it setup correctly.

Did you ever solve this? I'm trying to use the same setup, to no success. It will occasionally persuade the 3100HD to take a single digit, but it's horribly inconsistent.

Yeah, if I remember correctly we solved this. I don't recall what the solution was though...Frank?

I still haven't been able to get it to work at all. Is there any hope?

No, not really. The learning process claims to work, and the little led inside the emitter blinks when I tell it to test, and the cable box *occasionally* will change channels, if I click on the test button very rapidly. It's not remotely reliable though, and it never changes with just a single click.

Have you tried any of the different methods for teaching the Actisys the remote codes mentioned throughout the forums? Instead of just pressing the key on your remote, try doing a "tap, tap", or a "tap, hold" or vice versa. This has seemed to fix most of the problems for specific remotes/receivers.

I was planning to try that last night, but I ended up working from 6am to 9pm, then I went to bed. :] Maybe tonight.

Ok, now I have the IR output being consistently recognized by the receiver. Now, I have another problem. Every time a channel change is sent, SageTV sends 5 digits. My cable box only wants 4, so it changes the channel after it gets 4, which results in two channel changes in quick succession. How do I convince SageTV to only send 4 digits?

It managed to fix itself, somehow. I restarted SageTV, and it now sends only 4 digits, and the channel changes perfectly.
