version 5 does not work with directv serial

Version 5.04 or whatever does not work with my directv. Anything that can be done about this? version 4 works fine


also, how can i get it so its not recording everytime a view a channel?

and is there a guide somewhere for optimizing FFdshow with sage?

it automatically records everytime you watch live TV so you can pause / rewind / ffwd if you want to. why would you want to disable one of the best features of this software?

i would want to disable the recording everything i watch because it causes lag when changing channels


I just replaced the directvserial.dll with the one from version 4 and now it works fine.

now how do i get the picture to not look like crap? im using a pvr 150 with s video

Are you talking about the signal you are getting on your tv from your media center PC? If your TV is a HDTV, I've found that the picture quality of a PC's video out (non digital) looks absolutely horrible. It's just a combination of the compression + the way a HDTV handles non-HD signals. I get a better picture from a sage recording on a non-HDTV with a media extender than I get on either of my HDTVs.

I was just talking about the way it looked on my PC screen, I made some changes and it seems much better now, though i forget what i changed
