Accessing files recorded with Sage denied.

I am trying to pull a file recording from Sage onto another computer to edit for DVD. It Windows is giving me a permissions error, you don't have pemission or file may be in use. Can Sage be running when I do this? Or is there another setting I need to adjust. It is just the recorded files on this drive I can't access.

Are you doing commercial skipping and is SA running on the file? Do one of the clients have the file in use? I copy my Sage files all the time off the server for burning to DVD with no issues.

I don't have any clients, just the HTPC itself with SageTV 5.xx on it. No commericial skip or anything like that.

I guess you are using UNC paths or have mapped a network drive? (you transferring via NIC?)
What permissions do you have set on the drive for sharing purposes.
Or have i missunderstood you.

That just went over my head.

I just set the drive as shared in the properties. The recordings go straight to the drive, no sub-folders. When I open that drive on the network from my other PC it responds with that message (It is reacting as if I had set the drive to share and the file actually was in use) Now Sage was open but was not playing from the files I tried, nor reccording to them.

Hope this is clear, I have a real basic understanding of this networking stuff.

EDIT: Disable sharing, renabled sharing and works fine now.
