Just something to add: some monitors actually have a built-in PiP feature! I'm not sure how familiar you are with your monitor (I have to play with menus on everything I buy ), but you may just find that this is the case with yours. Of course, if you're watching TV on your Television, and the only option you have is for SageTV to support PiP in-program, then I suppose your out of luck for now.

Just for reference, I'm using the Samsung SyncMaster 21" 215TW. It's quite nice.

I use a projector as the display device. it doesn;t support PIP.

I could always run different apps like I did this morning using the sage placeshifter and sage client to achieve this. BUT, I think it would be very nice to have SAGE support PIP.

i assume you use the PIP support in your monitor to feed it two different sources?

I don't now, but it is possible. I split my cable from the wall, so I use my LCD television to watch live tv while my PC records TV in the background with SageTV (with a single-tuner via PVR-150). I'll be buying a PVR-500 dual-tuner on payday, and will probably utilize the PiP function of my monitor more frequently.
