Crashed System: XML files

I had a system crash (reinstall xp), and didn't have my wiz.bin file backed up (I think it was always in use when the backup program attempted to get it).

Anyway, I am happy to not restore SageTV all the way. I had given it some bad "Don't Like" info for intelligent recordings anyway, so starting from scratch is OK.

The Question is:

If I copy the .xml files associated with previous recordings (pre-crash) to the new Sage Recordings folder (set-up post-crash)...will SageTV know not to record shows that have been previously recorded (for favorites - assuming ShowID is the same)?

SageTV does not use XML files for any show data, so it won't check those files. Unless the customization you used to create the XML files can also read it back in, the only way to get the old recording info would be to use the old wiz.bin.

BTW: there is a way to change the bad Don't Like history, so if you found your old wiz.bin somehow, you could undo some of those Don't Like settings.

This was a stupid question; I had guessed Sage was creating my .xml files...not Comskip.

Thanks!
