How to import home movies?

Didn't really know which forum to put this in. I am a new user. I recently installed a Hge PVR-500. I have several home movies on my camcorder; I want to import them onto my computer through the PVR turner. But do I need to install the Haapauge software to perform the import, or can I use SageTV someway? Basically, I would be plugging my camcorder into the video inputs on the back of the PVR Card and then hitting play on my camcorder. I just don't know what program to use to record it on the computer end of it.

Thanks,
Brent Craig

I wasn't able to find any program that was really able to capture with any of the Hauppague capture cards. (PVR150, 250 or 500) I was better off using the 1394 firewire connection on the camcorder with Nero 7, Movie Edit 11, Windows Movie Maker and other programs. None of those programs could be setup to use the Hauppague tuner cards. Maybe in Sage you could setup a special channel for the input and just record it to mpg.

Once I'm done capturing I just copy them out to the Sage Import media directory and play them from Sage.
