Media extender with HD

How would the media extender work if my main tv is an HDTV (and my recordings will be HD) but the media extender and the tv I am extending to does not support HD?

In other words, living room has HDTV, HD receiver and sage computer. But bedroom would like to have media extender which looks like it does not support HD anyway based on the composite connectors and my non HDTV in my bedroom?

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forums. There is only one way to get the MVP to display HD. It has to be transcoded on the fly. Which means that you need to have a very powerful PC, and you need to set up the transcoding. IIRC there is a thread on this somewhere already. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...=mvp+transcode

The rumor mill SAGE is working on an HDTV Media Extender for future release. The make and model they are using or a time frame of possible release is not available at this time.
