Hardware Needed for Stutter Free 1080i

I want to build a Sage box that will be used for OTA HDTV only. My HDTV's native input is 1080i. I have some unused hardware but am unsure if any of it will be good enough. I have an Abit AI7 with a Celeron D that will run at 3.0 GHz. I also have an Asus P4P800SE with a CT479 and a Pentium M 730 that runs at 2.4 GHz with an 800 MHz FSB. I also have an ATI 9800 PRO with the componet dongle. I would like to use VMR9. I think the Pentium M might be ok but I am not sure about the 9800 PRO. If I have to buy a new video card I will buy a pci-e which means that I will have to buy a new motherboard/cpu also.

Thanks for any input, Bill

Why don't you try it? Go find some HDTV clips (google) and try it out thru what you have. I know the 9800 would be good enough for overlay for sure. I am just not sure with FSE. Probably would be able to handle it. I would give your pentium-M the nod if it can do it, since the power requirements should be pretty low (and therefore cheaper in the long run). Just my two cents worth. I don't mess around with FSE, since I am happy with Overlay and the system power requirements are considerably lower.
