Media Extender and Universal remote

I just ordered a media extender from Sage.

Was reading this forum, and first newb question is : Does media extender = MVP ?
Hauppauge made these things?

Really I just need to know if a normal generic Universal remote can control the Media extender (wired version btw).

This is getting installed in a bathroom and used on a Seura TV Mirror
I want to use this waterproof universal remote for watching Sage in the tub!

Should be a sweet setup, but don't want 3 remote controls in the bathroom!

Thanks for any advice in advance!

It's an IR/RF Learning remote so you should be able to train it to the functions of the MVP. But others may have more knowledge/experience. YMMV

Sage Media Extender = Hauppauge MediaMVP + Extender License.

I meant the Dolphin remote in the link is a learning IR/RF. The MVP is just IR.
