Reinstalling a TIVO
I have an old tivo box that wont be used anymore. I am wondering if its possible to reinstall a windows OS onto the TIVO hardware and use it as a sage client or server? I have just started thinking about this and wanted to know if anybody out there has tried it yet. I know it will take a lot of driver testing and optimizing but thought it would be interested to give it a shot.

I don't know much about TiVos, but just did a quick search and apparently they run linux. I doubt you could get a sage client working on one, but there are a few hacks.
There is some info here about playing mpeg2 from a networked computer through a TiVo. You might be able to browse your Sage recording directory through a TiVo and playback the recordings. Of course you wouldn't have the Sage UI, but you could make some use of the old TiVo I guess. |

There is a project or two trying to add a web browser to the TiVo. It might be possible to use the Sage webserver to schedule and delete recordings. From what I've seen TiVos only have 16 MB of ram so it's very limited in running other apps or complex web pages.
