DVDs freeze on playback

I have copied 100 DVDs to a server using DVDShrink. I have SageTV Client on a shuttle computer attached to a projector, connected via our 100Mb/s network.
On many of the movies, the playback freezes and I have to kill SageTV Client in taskmanager and restart it. The place were the movies freeze is different between movies but the same on each movie when I try to play it again.
Surely any DVD read problems would have been resolved in the copying process? Shouldn't STV Client be more resilient to errors?

Make sure you are using UNC paths to access your imported videos.

How does that cause lockups mid-movie?

I'm having the same problem. DVD's ripped with either DVD Shrink or DVDFab Decrypter. System locks-up tight and I have to reboot. The same videos play fine in WinDVD. The DVDs are stored on a ReadyNAS server, so they're on a Samba share.

Anyone.

(and I'm using UNC paths).
