UI layout question (variable height text)

General problem I ran across several times already:
I have a panel with two subpanels containing text, the first one has variable length text which could be one ore more lines, the second one is always one line:

I want to restrict panel1 to a certain height (3 lines), so that the text in panel2 is always visible (it is positioned at the botttom of the screen and will otherwise be cut off), but it should also display right below the last line of panel1.

Now, I know I can specify a fixed height for panel1, but then the text for panel2 will always be at the last line at the bottom, and if the text in panel1 is less than three lines there will be a gap between both:

Is there any way to achieve this ? If not, a "max height" attribute for panels would be a nice addition ...

No, it looks like this is one sizing option that isn't there. I think I would have a couple uses for it too, though.

Darn, it would make things so much easier ... I hope you'll lobby this idea for a future version (if not 5.1 maybe the next)
