5.0.4 continually crashing
Sage 5.0.4 was running for quite some time without issue untill this morning when this error continually appears after the service is started:

Please everyone who gets these application popup messages report them to SageTV support. I do and am told that since I am the only one who get them it must be a hardware problem. I don't think for a moment that it is a hardware problem I am sure that it is a software problem but may or may not be caused by the SageTV software.

I've seen errors like the ones above show up from both memory gone or going bad or overclocking of the CPU or various components. When troubleshooting issues like this it is worthwhile to go into your BIOS and reset it for "safe" or default settings and test with that. Also swap out the memory with known good ones.

I have to agree. These are rare occurrences and have a very high probability of being a hardware issue. Just because other apps have no problem or stress tests reveal nothing does not conclusively mean a hardware problem does not exist. Also, the problem can exist at the design level itself due to some subtle deviation from norm.
Overclocking is, in my opinion, not the thing to do for HTPC use. Stability is job one for HTPC. DFA

Speaking ov Overclocking, I've gone as far as underclocking my Athlon XP 3200 to an FSB of 166 instead of 200mhz, Still plenty fast and rock solid - never been forced to reboot in over 3 months with Sage ver 5.0.02 running dedicated.
I am only using 512mb of ram and a high qulaity powersupply and decent but modest asus Ti4200 video card. Stability is crucial.
