Feature request: program guide listed by channel type

To make browsing easier through the hundreds of available channels, it would be helpful to be able to view the program guide by channel type as defined by the user, similar to how DishTV and ExpressVu receivers work. For example, I have my ExpressVu channels displayed in these groups:

Networks (e.g. NBC, CBC, Comedy)
Movies
Radio
Info (e.g. news, learning channels)

Suggest you look at my FavoriteChannelLists plugin. You should be able to group your channels like you have them above unless I'm misunderstanding what you want.

Sounds very interesting.

Does the plugin require manual setup of the channel grouping, or is it automatic? It sounds like what joeh26 is requesting is to automatic grouping by category.

It's all manual. I didn't know that the EPG data provided categorys for channels?
