Watching/Listening to internet streams within SageTV

Hey guys. I am curious as to if SageTV has the capability to view/listen to internet streaming media links (mms://, rtsp://, .m3u files, etc) from within the application.

I'm developing a website that is designed as a community based playlist database.
What makes my site different than others of it's type is that I do not try to hide the url of the stream or force the user to view the stream via an embedded player on my site. Conversely, I provide the user the option of downloading the playlist as a standard .pls playlist and allow them to choose how they view it. Also, the users of the website can report if a station is nonfunctional so that it is no longer displayed. This creates an always up-to-date list of working stations. Users can also build their own custom playlists and download that list. I am working on a system that will allow the user to automatically download their customized playlists so they always have an up-to-date list. One last thing, the site is provided as a service to the user. There are no ads on the site and I do not intend on adding any. A Paypal donate button is available for those who may be inclined to help with the hosting costs, but the user will never be required to pay for the service provided.

I have worked with the authors of streaming media plugins for MythTV, GBPvr and Media Portal in incorporating the data from my site for use within those PVR applications. I would like to make myself available to the SageTV community if there is interest in this functionality.

If you are interested, you can visit the site at http://worldwidemediaproject.com

Please note that the website is still very new and that I am still actively developing additional features and working on bugfixes.

The webradio plugin was a great success, im sure one for some sort of video would be welcomed.

But im sure you would probably have to write it yourself.

The key to this though won't be to give sage links to your website. You will need to hide pretty much everything that had to do with yourself and plug straight into the main UI or people won't likely take to it.

The web radio is a great success because we basically tell sage. Play this station and it does, without any redirects, websites, or extra crap that needs to be installed.

BUT, using your site to obtain the links to plug into a sage-player would probably be a very good success. So good luck
