limiting HD recordings to specific tuner?

Hey all,
quick question. Can I restrict recording on a specific channel to one tuner? I'm sure others are in my situation: here in the Raleigh-Durham area, all of the transmitters are basically due east from me, except for PBS, which is almost 180 degrees the other way. I tried initially using a coaxial splitter in reverse to combine the signals from two antennas, but that didn't yield very good results.

So, my plan is to keep my main CM4220 antenna pointed towards the majority of the stations and split that to three Vbox D150 tuners. (This is currently working fine.)

If I use another antenna pointing towards PBS and run it to a 4th tuner, and restrict the channel lineups so that for tuners 1-3 it's everything but PBS and for tuner 4 it's _only_ PBS, would it be correct to assume that Sage will only use tuner 4 for PBS, versus giving me a no signal message?

Thanks in advance.

cheers,
Dave

It certainly should work that way.

I use a split channel lineup like that, except its 1 OTA, and 1 cable (thru firewire).

For instance channel 13-1 is CBS and only availble thru the air (some dispute with Comcast), so i have it blocked on the channel lineup for cable, and it only come in OTA.

You will need to use a different channel lineup for the tuner that you want to use for PBS. Likely, pick a city on the other side of the antenna and deselect all of the other channels for that lineup.

I think the trick is to pick a different channel line up for the PBS tuner. For example, I have 2 channel lineups for my HD channels OTA, digital only, and all.

EDIT: Yeah, what he said
