Would it be possible to have the Search engine include 2-letter searches?

Would it be possible to have the Search engine include 2-letter searches? I know that vBulletin can be set to include them, but it does add to the database.

A lot of important info may be not searchable easily due to 2-letter acronyms, such as CC and 5C. There are probably others I'm missing.

I too have wished for this on multiple occasions.

Something tells me the searches won't be changed to include all 2-letter word references. In that case, there is an option to include certain 2 letter terms that are searchable. If there are suggestions for those, let me know. But, they may not include existsing posts once added... I don't know about that.

For multi-word searches, the info you saw is exactly what I know about it. You could try having the search sort by "Relavancy" rather than the default "Last Posting Date".

If you can just specify certain 2-letter words as searchable, that would be cool. I figured you'd have to enable all 2-letter words, and then build a big badword file that would block stuff like AT, TO, IT, etc.

I guess the next step is to have everyone list the 2-letter combos that they would like enabled.

probables:
5C - firewire "encryption"
CC - closed caption
FW - firewire and firmware

maybes:
RW
FF

Andy,

I'm not sure when this got implemented but thanks for adjusting the search engine for us. It really helps to be able to search on something that is only 2 letters long, like a lot of acronyms. I tried the major ones, and they all seemed to work

Everybody else, I guess if there is a two-letter search that you need, and it won't let you search for, then mention it here, or in PM to Andy, Opus4, that you need it. Maybe he would be willing to add it in.
