The latest version is 4.6.1 as of 5/7/09 but even with this it gets stuck right after the last movie in the [IMDB] Getting movie details .... list.

I turned off the DownloadDetails and DownloadFanArt attributes in the XML config but it did not have an affect.
Using stand-alone 4.5.7 MTSA
I'm running MTSA v4.5.8, and it isn't hanging on me.

Just an fyi for everybody... there is a MTSA v4.6.x at nephilim's web site (http://www.nephilim.it) but it appears that trailer downloads are now broken. I ran v4.6.2 (listed as v4.6.0 on nephilim's MTSA web page) and it deteleted the trailers from the trailers directory without downloading any other trailers. I had to rerun v4.5.8 to get my trailers back.

+1 on the hanging. Using 4.5.6, and it started a few days ago. Just tried 4.6.3. MTSA finishes now, but trailers are all wiped out....

I just tried 4.5.8 as posted above. Fixed my hang from 4.5.6 talking to IMDB, and have my trailers are back!

Hi,

i've updated the MTSA application.
Download it here.
Current version is: 4.6.4

About the problems with the trailer downloads, this happen because i've changed a bit the config.xml format.
Now you have to add the following line to your config.xml in order to download the trailer:
<TrailerDownload>True</TrailerDownload>

If you set it to 'False' MTSA will fill only the xml tag (for streaming features) without download (default value).

Hope this help...

Bye,
Nephilim

Great addon!

I ran into a couple of bugs, though. No matter what I entered as my Trailers folder, it never actually saved it. There were some other quirks about entering a non-default path for MTSA location, but I can't remember the specifics. I finally just edited the config.xml by hand instead.

When I click on List Theaters, click on a Theater, move around the grid of posters, then click Back, often it will take me back to "Theaters for (movie title)" rather than taking me back to the screen I was on before - the general List Theathers screen. It also doesn't preserve the new TrailerDownload setting when it re-writes the config.xml file.

I also wonder, do you think it's possible to make it where when you have a poster highlighted you could hit play and go directly to the trailer? That's generally how I like to browse around, watching trailers. My last suggest - if rottentomatoes allows it, I'd love to have their tomatometer score. I usually find IMDB scores/reviews to be inflated for larger studio movies (I can't help but suspect it's part of the marketing campaigns.)

Thanks again!

25KB MOV files.

New movies no longer playing the trailers. Upon investigation I discovered The last couple of days my MovieTimes MTSA.exe file has started downloading just 25KB .MOV files and not the actual movie. When I opened the files I noticed they are HTTP formated files. Is anyone else experiencing this? Has the source site changed something?

Your mtsa.exe is out of date. Download the mtsa.zip from nephilim's web site (http://www.nephilim.it/mtsa.zip), extract the new mtsa.exe over the old one, delete the bad (small 24-25kb) trailers, and then rerun mtsa. Nephilim updates the mtsa.zip at the link on his site frequently. And since he doesn't always make a note of these updates here or on his site, it can be hard to tell when a new version is available. The link at the bottom of his web page states it's mtsa v4.7.5 from July 13th, but I just checked, and the mtsa.exe in the current mtsa.zip was just updated yesterday and is currently at v4.8.0.23337. I just updated to this version, tested it out, and it is correctly downloading trailers.

Thank you. That seems to have taken care of the problem. I had checked for updates but not seeing a change on the version number and seeing the older date on the file I assumed I was up to date. I'll know better next time. Thanks for the links.

Any else find the Movietimes has stopped working again - specifically the MTSA portion? Mine was working fine until Friday. The log file says the media library is empty, and the moviedata.xml only has two lines in it.... Tried 4.8.5 of MTSA but no go. Maybe there has been a change in the requirements for the config.xml?

MTSA uses Google for US/UK/Canada movie showtimes listings and it appears as though Google has dropped listings for some theaters

I lost listings for 2 of my 3 local theaters. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch with Google. Otherwise I hope Nephilim can update MTSA to use Yahoo or IMDB.

I just checked the latest mtsa.zip file at nephilim's site. The mtsa.exe file is dated 10/10/2009 and the version is 4.8.5.25724. As noted above nephilim doesn't always post that the file has been updated. Might be worth a check. It was for me back in September. I'll be updating my file when I get home from work.

I just checked mine again last night and now it's working again. Maybe was a Google issue as noted by robogeek above.

Not here. 3+ days and not working. Posting my log, because it freezes at the exact same place each instance. Might be the specific movie that triggered it and changed for the weekend for the rest of you... but not working here.

Thanks Nephilim!

It was working, but now it's failing on that one movie while trying to get details and fanart from TMDB. Try changing the <DownloadExtraDetailsTMDB> and <DownloadFanArt> configuration tags to False in the config.xml file until a new MTSA.exe is released to address the problem.
