Season and episode information?

Is there any way to get the season and episode information on shows?
Right now there is only the title, and it would be more than usefull to get at least the season. Any way to get that info in Sage?

Erik.

What info display are you talking about?

If you mean EPG data, the built-in EPG data already includes detailed info for shows, and that is displayed in the UI when it is available for an airing.

Maybe this is because I'm in Canada but only the show name is in the detailled informations of a show.

If you are using the built-in EPG data, then it should be coming from the same place as the US data: Zap2It. You could check the Zap2It listings for your location to see what they display. You may also want to ask SageTV about it -- info for contacting them about EPG issues is in this FAQ.

About the closest you get is the original air date and the ShowID. The original air date should be self explanatory. The showID will be something like EP8401790007. Just ignore everything but the last 4 digits and you get roughly the episode number, in this case 7. However this number is more like a production number and they are sometimes broadcast in a slightly different order, but generally it works.

I prefer the numbers Tivo give which are something like 312, which means season 3 episode 12.

Oh - is that what was meant? Season + Episode number, in addition to episode title? I read it to mean that _everything_ but the title was missing, including the show description & so on. But, yeah if the season & episode numbers were available, that would help tracking down any missing episodes of the series.

Thanks alot! Yes that's exactly what I was looking for. The title and the rest are working fine. Would there by any easy way to customize SageTV to add this info in the detailed info about a show?

Erik.

If the data is available it should be displayed when you select a show from the program guide and choose "view program information". See the attachment for an example on how it looks.

If the data is available all my menus that are part of the hidden extras (look in the customization forum for details) prominently display the episode number and pretty much every bit of info available.
