STV custom graphics

Is there someone (or several persons) here on the boards that are interested in creating custom graphics for new STV/Is? I have seen several people make things like buttons, and remember seeing a really good graphics person working with meekell on his STV... I have some experience in studio, and would like to update some things I have done and make some more plugins, but need someone with more graphic skills that can produce good PNG graphics... I would like to create some partnerships here between graphics and propgrammers... anyone interested?

Also, does anyone have links to really good skins / graphics for other software that we may be able to use here?

A few the of the places I might look for inspiration is meedio and BTV. The MP folks get quite pissy when things are copied. As always, just email the author and I am sure they will be ok with it. .

But seriously, its not impossible, you just need a Steve Jobs in charge to pull it off, I mean look at Apple products.

Bohica, I thought about taking on the SageTV default UI before in terms of just replacing graphic elements. I was waiting for v6.0 to go final so that the STV no longer changes much. I'm good with graphics as its what I do for a living, so let me know what your plan is and maybe I can help you out.

That apparently came across completely wrong. I'm crappy with graphics, and have trouble with a "vision" when it comes to UIs, but I'm decent with Java and figuring out how to do things in studio, so I was asking what Bohica had in mind to see if there was some commonality between our goals.

If you're good with laying stuff out, coming up with a "vision"/style/framework (UI wise), maybe take a look here and see if you've got any ideas:

Bohica,

Disclaimer: IANAGA (I am not a graphic artist)

If they might be of some use, you're welcome to use any of my graphics, present and future.

Unfortunately, my time is very limited these days (we have 2 month old twins and a 2.5 yr old in the middle of potty training ) so I hesitate to make any commitments. But I'll try to help out when I can.

How's that for non-commital?

Aloha,
Mike

Hi all,

I am thinking of reworking the default STV with updated graphics - taking advantage of 16x9 environments if the system is 16x9 - and replacing many of the menus with a more graphical environment. I do like the default navigation, but I think it needs a facelift. I, like stranger, am fairly good at this point with the studio environment, but I am horrible at graphics...

I am out of town all next week -- but will get back in touch right after to kick around ideas...
