Keyboard for MediaMVP?

Is there an IR keyboard that will work with the MediaMVP extender for entering text for searches, etc?

The remote is so painful to use for this that I don't do it.

I run SageTV on a server in the basement, and all real use is done through the MediaMVP. (I just switched from BTW because of the Media Extender support in Sage).

I want to know this too. I guess one can use any IR keyboard that uses a simple interface (keyboards usually transmit a start and stop sequence for each key press and several other things along these lines), and just remap it in software, right.

The MVP only recognizes RC5 IR protocol codes. If you an find an IR keyboard that uses that type of IR code, maybe you could program its keys in SageTV.

If you are trying to find an easier way to enter text for searches, the check out the hidden extras in the default STV. It has an option to search using One Touch Numeric Text Input for most search screens. For a little more info about that, see the Usage tips for new v6 features.

And, in the v6.2.4 beta, there is a new consolidated search where you can search for any type of media & you can use one-touch numeric input for any search type.
