In need of SageTV 5.0.2........badly

Hi

Can someone please post a link to the older version SageTV 5.0.2.
left my dvd of all the older versions at work..........I think

SageTV 5.0.2 always worked the best on my sister's system and she does not wish to upgrade from something that works.

Her Maxtor drive died for the 3 time in 13 months

Considering the track record, it seems likely this will happen again. It might be time to get Acronis TrueImage and make an image of the new install once you get it tweaked the way you want it. It sure would make life easier next time.

The three blowing out are all fighting each other. You should have (roughly) the same amount of make-up air coming in as exhaust going out. You can settle for slightly less make-up air as there will be some air leaking in through various holes, but still, you need to turn one of those fans around. One in at the front, supplying cool air to be vented out by two fans at the back would be my suggestion. You want to have a logical A to B airflow generally mapped out.

But you don't want air leaking in through all those holes, unless you enjoy cleaning cat hair out of your DVD drive. Air intake should exceed exhaust so that air leaks out all the various holes, blowing dust away instead of sucking it in everywhere. Then you can put dust filters on your intake fans to keep dust from entering the case that way.

I agree with both TomJon and Skunk guy. You don't want to have any leaks. Air will get out there and it also can get in there. Air can come in along with cat hairs and dog hairs and dust. You also don't want any air going out because it will mess up the make-up air. The best way to do it is to close up all the holes and the fans will be forced to circulate air throughout the case. That way you don't have to worry about make-up air. Nothing comes in and nothing goes out. It's a closed system.

Um, are you saying what I think you're saying?

You absolutely want air to come in and air to go out. There are two main considerations. First, you want unbostructed airflow to travel through the case from the point(s) of entry, across the hot components, and out through the exhaust. There should not be any fans moving air counter to that flow. Flow in at the front/bottom and out at the back/top is typical. Second, keeping the the internal pressure of the case slightly positive will cause a small amount of air to leak out of cracks and holes rather than in. This helps keep dust accumulation at a minimum. The leakage of air is not detrimental to the cooling at all. I highly recommend visiting SPCR for lots of detailed info on cooling and noise related issues.

Aloha,
Mike
