Newbie Q's on Install and Config!

Sorry up front for the Noob Q's and I've even read heaps of the forum posts but I think I am making it waaaay toooo hard. I've downloaded the trial version from the web and run the install prog but have a couple of probs:
1) TV Tuner - I've got a DVICO DVB-T Plus card (here in Syd Australia). I don't pick up any channels with the set-up config. After reading some threads I even got a local channels.ini file if that helps but I don't know where to stick it! TV card works fine in all the other progs of course!
2) Videos Files with Digitial Tracks (DD & DTS): I've ripped my Music DVD's by chapter so I can build play lists etc. The prob is that these files seem to "hang" with no picture or sound (yet I can skip forward / back etc). Clips with PCM play fine. FYI I connect to an AV Receiver using S/PDIF and have no probs with Nero Home on the same box.
Thanks
Nathan

You didn't mention what version of SageTV you are trying, but due to the DVB-T card, you should be trying the v6 beta if you aren't already doing so. (... thus the move of this topic to the beta forum.)

Videos Files with Digitial Tracks (DD & DTS)

Thanks - FYI I am a refuge from Media Portal, MCE, SesamTV, and Nero Home (the current one I am using) looking for niverna as each of these has an issue - so here's hoping SageTV is the GO! I connect my PC to a Yami AV Receiver via DVI & S/PDIF, and use MCE IR Mouse / Keyboard.

I've now intalled the Beta (FYI it works over the 15-day Trial) but have the following comments:
1) Comment: DVICO DVB-T Plus card works - good looking picture but there is no "Sydney, Australia" or any "Australia" in the Guide so I just left in on the top one as there was also not a "Nothing" option.
2) Minor: HD Channels as only outputing downmixed PCM sound - not a big issue for me at this stage.
3) Major: Videos Files with Digitial Tracks (DD & DTS): I've ripped my Music DVD's by chapter so I can build play lists etc. The prob is that these files seem to "hang" with no picture or sound (yet I can skip forward / back etc getting just a frame). Clips with PCM play fine. FYI the Microsoft MPEG Demuxer (used by Media Portal & MCE) does NOT support Muxed MPEG/DTS files (they play without sound as there is no output pin). All other progs I have on this box play MPEG and output the DD over S/PDIF fine, with only Nero and VLC handling MPEG/DTS files (Nero give a DTS Decoding warning but passes it over S/PDIF just fine).

Overall I like the look and feel of SageTV but need to get MPEG/DD/DTS files playing as I've got my entire Music DVD collection in this format. I have and can config a varity of CODEC such as FFDSHOW, NVIDIA etc if needed but any advice is welcome!

Thanks
Nathan
